Palmistry Guide – The map of the hand.
In palmistry, the areas on the palm are designated as “mounts”. There are seven main primary mounts and one minor mount that appear on the palm. Each has a planetary connection (or namesake) to indicate its respective importance on the palm. This link to the planets also makes astrology an associated discipline to palmistry (ie: it may be viewed as a sister act). Each mount represents a certain characteristic in a person and, in general, the larger, more pronounced and firmer the mount, the stronger that characteristics is in the person. Depressed mounts denote a weaker influence. Flat mounts tend to indicate the characteristic has no major influence in a persons life.
